Fishing Tips & Tactics

What a great way to get kids involved in the outdoors.  A Zebco 33, some hooks, splitshot, can of worms, and an old farm pond is all you need to have a great time.  Well, the fishing of today can get pretty serious and a whole lot more complicated than that.  It can be pretty intimidating when you walk down the aisle at your favorite sporting goods store passing lure after lure, or staring at a wall of different types of line, weights, colors, sizes, etc.

The fact is that most lures will or at least have caught a fish during their field testing trials which makes them “proven” to work.  However, we all know that does not mean they will work for you, on your water, and on the day or even time of day which you cast it.

We are here to help!  The DEER30 Outdoors team has sought after many of the freshwater fish found in Virginia and Maryland waters and can offer the helpful hints and tidbits that will have them biting your line and not the fella’s down the bank.

Below are a few articles about such lessons learned that may help you on your next hunt.  If you don’t find your answer here, please feel free to contact us through the website, facebook, etc. and we will be more than happy to try to offer you some advice.
