Do you have a rifle or handgun with a few specks of rust or imperfections in the finish? Well, I have the answer, Blue Wonder™.
First, let me tell you why I was in need of some repair work on my Remington Model 700. My wife loves to eat the game that I bring home but does not want to be surrounded by the reminders of death like deer mounts and turkey fans. So I have been banished to the basement, and like many men out there, my man cave needed some improvement. So I decided to put down a hardwood floor which requires the temporary emptying and relocation of my gun cabinet. During this time, my Model 700 was laying inside one of my travel cases left open on a card table in the basement. My wife’s cat decided to use my travel case as its new litter box and urinated in the foam and on the barrel of my Model 700. The urine corroded the barrel by eating straight through the blue finish. Hence the need for repair.
I researched products online and in my local sporting good stores and finally came across something called Blue Wonder™. It was relatively inexpensive, reportedly easy to use, and got great reviews by other customers. I decided to give it a try, and I was blown away! My rifle looks like I just took it out of the box, which is lucky for my wife’s cat.
Below is the how to video I used to help guide me. I used a hair dryer and had no problems.
